Breakdown The Pose
Step 3 of the Daily 5 is to 'STRETCH AND BREATHE'. This teaches awareness of physical co-ordination and strength. 'The Butterfly Mind' provides a simple way for children and young people to focus on the movement and isolation of specific parts of their body, as well as developing a simple mindfulness technique to help with concentration.
Each Daily 5 has a stretch and a pose for the word that we are focusing on for the week.
These 'Breakdown the Pose' videos teach us how to do each stretch and pose correctly, developing strength and core stability. In some of the videos, Sarah offers both basic and slightly more challenging ways to do the stretches.
